String Wars
String Wars is a rhythm game, developed with the aim of assisting the learning of musical instruments by using sound recognition techniques, based on the Pyglet game engine. The game itself was built on top of Frets on Fire, an open source alternative to Guitar Hero.

Realtime monophonic pitch recognition
The game was cancelled at a somewhat early stage of its implementation, due to lack of funding. At the time of cancellation, String Wars was playable with only a microphone, effectively making it compatible with any instrument or singing voice.
